Adverse Weather - Reminder
This term is the most likely time for extreme weather. In very severe weather conditions it may be necessary for school to be closed. Should this happen before school starts information is given out on Radio Wyvern and BBC Hereford and Worcester. Parents are asked to tune into these stations who will announce school closures at regular intervals. Only schools that are closed are mentioned.
If weather conditions deteriorate greatly during the school day, I would ask you to ring school to find out if closure is necessary. When closure is decided upon, and this will only be in extreme conditions, any parents who have not already been in contact will be telephoned. No children will be sent home without parents being informed. Children whose parents cannot be contacted will remain in school with a member of staff until parents arrive.
Could I please ask parents to ensure the children bring their coats to school every day. In very bad weather the children do not go out to play but it is always our intention to give the children outside play as much as possible. Should there be some snow and school remains open, the children who have brought named wellingtons would be able to go out and enjoy themselves in the snowy playground.
